If you would like to refine your musical ability so you have skills to perform both as a featured soloist and as part of a group or ensemble, this course is for you.

You will learn how to refine your music theory and performance skills, expand your repertoire, develop concert programs and leadership skills. You will also learn how to manage your freelance career, write and implement a business plan and administer the copyright of your compositions.

Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of a senior Secondary School certificate
  • English proficiency: minimum IELTS 5.5
  • Singing or instrumental skills verified and experiences and tuition undertaken outlined.
  • Well developed skills as a musician.
  • Music knowledge in a variety of contexts
  • Evidence of school reports, academic records and instrumental or singing tuition taken.
  • Applicants must be over 18 at commencement of study

How to apply?

  • Complete and send audition form
  • Pay $70 audition fee
  • Complete and send audition paperwork and a video file of 2 contrasting songs
  • Once notified that audition is successful, complete and send enrolment form

AUDITION

  • The applicant is required to perform and record three contrasting pieces of their choice. The visual/audio recording is to be submitted with the application for admission.
  • The audition is not a test but an opportunity for the Queensland College of Music to determine your current knowledge and skill and to ensure qualifications in Music are relevant to you and will enhance your musicianship and employability
  • The audition performance will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate:
    • proficiency and confidence in your selected instrument
    • an ability to perform with confidence and expression
