Certificate IV in Music Industry

If you would like to become a freelance performer or composer or work as part of an ensemble, this course is for you.

You will learn music composition techniques and record a demo of your compositions, as well as refining techniques in your chosen instrument.

The Certificate IV in Music Industry will also assist you to take the next step toward becoming a music professional by learning how to investigate business opportunities, use copyright and lead a team or group.

• Successful completion of a senior Secondary School certificate
• English proficiency: minimum IELTS 5.0
• Singing or instrumental skills verified and experiences and tuition undertaken outlined.
• Well developed skills as a musician.
• Music knowledge in a variety of contexts
• Evidence of school reports, academic records and instrumental or singing tuition taken.
• Applicants must be over 18 at commencement of study
  
  

How to apply?

• Complete and send audition form
• Pay $70 audition fee
• Complete and send audition paperwork and a video file of 2 contrasting songs
• Once notified that audition is successful, complete and send enrolment form
  
  

AUDITION

• The applicant is required to perform and record three contrasting pieces of their choice. The visual/audio recording is to be submitted with the application for admission.
• The audition is not a test but an opportunity for the Queensland College of Music to determine your current knowledge and skill and to ensure qualifications in Music are relevant to you and will enhance your musicianship and employability
• The audition performance will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate:
  • proficiency and confidence in your selected instrument
  • an ability to perform with confidence and expression
