Diploma of Interpreting (NAATI endorsed)

Thinking about turning your language skills into something big? The Diploma of Interpreting is just the thing. It's all about:

• Learning to Interpret: You get to learn how to turn words from one language into another. It's like being the bridge between two people who don't speak the same language!
• Work in Cool Places: After this course, you could work in hospitals, schools, or even help tourists.
• Fixing Mistakes is Okay: You'll learn to interpret in situations where it's not the end of the world if you make a small mistake. There's always room to fix it.
• Be the Go-To Person: You'll be the one making sure everyone understands each other in meetings or interviews.

To start this journey, make sure you:

• Finished high school or have some good experience in languages.
• Are pretty good in English (like IELTS 5.5 level).
• Are ready for a chat with the Academic Manager to see if this course is right for you.
• Might have to take a test to show you can do this course.

When you finish, you could be:

• A Community Interpreter
• A Business Interpreter
• An Educational Interpreter

You'll be helping people understand each other in loads of different places!

The course takes 25 weeks, with classes, mock exams, and some online study. You’ll learn things like:

• Ethical Practice in Interpreting
• Building Language Glossaries
• Interpreting in Health and Legal Settings

You'll be in class for about 20 hours a week, plus some time on your own to practice.
